The Jam @ UC Davis - Friday, January 20th
Honestly, this event had some issues. It was held in the Activities and Recreation Center. They told everyone they would get them in for free, but it ended up not working out. The ARC workers wanted to kick everyone out or make them pay, which was kind of lame because people were driving up from other cities. People were coming out to support the dance program at the school, and were completely out of the way of any of the students. But whatever. Anyways, I ended up staying outside and met up with some dancers I knew of but had never really talked to and we all went out to eat. It’s this simple experiences that still remind me of why I love dance - it brings people together. Even if we weren’t dancing the whole time, just chilling and talking with dancers is cool.
Overall, I didn’t necessary get to enjoy the battle but I definitely enjoyed the night.
