Countdown to the Underground
This jam is happening on March 3rd, and we’ve made a little competition to count down to it, which you can check out at www.freshandflyproductions.com/blog
Here are some of the tasks:
- Call somebody out in a cypher
- Film yourself teaching somebody a move (it can be anybody! A friend, your mom, a random man on the street)
- Bring a friend to a local event
- Go to a hip hop event outside your city
- Make up a rap including the words fresh, fly, sactown, and dance
- Attend a dance workshop
- Take a class outside of your style
- Purchase a t-shirt from a local vendor
- Take a picture of yourself doing a freeze in a store
- Film yourself dancing downtown
- Get some friends and create a routine
- Do 25 pushups 5 days straight
- Do 10 handstand push ups
- Learn a new move
- Enter a jam
Just do it for fun and post them on Tumblr!
Battle Night 7: Halloween Edition (Chuck Norris & Bolo vs. Bruce Lee & Guile)
This is the battle I went to on Wednesday night. No winners, no judges, just a bunch of dancers having a good time. It was really cool to see everyone just come out and enjoy themselves, even funnier to watch it all happen in costumes! The part right after 3:50 is tight (you can see me watching, I’m in the beanie, aha).
Off to get ready for another costume party, Happy Halloween weekend!
I love when a bunch of dancers get in a room together and just dance. Not a session or practice, but just a bunch of passionate people in a studio, each one feeling the music and just … dancing.
There’s something so simple yet inspiring about it.
