Saturday, March 3rd. Sactown Underground. Come and get ‘em!
Thursday nights call for sweet tea and chicken nuggets, it’s become a tradition after my sessions and before Friday morning dance classes. The one thing that really scares me about moving away is losing all these little traditions. I guess it’s time to make new ones, eh?
Bee mine?
I’m lacking in the perfect face and the nice clothes and the amazing voice, but I do have ice cream, which is just as good, right?
and I’m not even that upset about it. I actually I have no emotion.
Except for the fact when I have to start walking my sorry butt to school or work the next town over. Maybe I’ll have some nice looking legs by summer.
But still. Lame.
Whatever.
I just want some ice cream. Join me?
Why is my hair like that?
Anyways, I’ve always been a pasta lover. Look, back when my sister still looked up to me!
I want little Valentine’s cards in the mail and to get to just eat chocolate/lollipops all day. We’ll just get together and snack. Screw romance, I’m here for the candy.
Good plan, right?
The Jam @ UC Davis - Friday, January 20th
Honestly, this event had some issues. It was held in the Activities and Recreation Center. They told everyone they would get them in for free, but it ended up not working out. The ARC workers wanted to kick everyone out or make them pay, which was kind of lame because people were driving up from other cities. People were coming out to support the dance program at the school, and were completely out of the way of any of the students. But whatever.
Anyways, I ended up staying outside and met up with some dancers I knew of but had never really talked to and we all went out to eat. It’s this simple experiences that still remind me of why I love dance - it brings people together. Even if we weren’t dancing the whole time, just chilling and talking with dancers is cool.
Overall, I didn’t necessary get to enjoy the battle but I definitely enjoyed the night.
One Red Paperclip
For my internet marketing class we are reading about this guy who used Craiglists to trade stuff until he got a house. He started with a freaking red paper clip! (I’ve heard the story before, but this is step by step what he got). SO AWESOME.
-Trade clip for fish shaped pen,
-pen for a doorknob shaped like E.T.,
-doorknob for Coleman stove (the guy needed a doorknob for his stove top expresso maker)
-stove for red generator (marine sergeant needed stove for his drive across country)
-generator for “instant party” (keg, Budweiser sign)
-party for snowmobile (from a radio talk show in Quebec)
-snowmobile for roundtrip airfare for two to British Columbia, a day of skiing and meals
-trip for a van
-van for a recording contract with 30 hours of recording time, transportation/hotels, and a record pitch with radio stations.
-recording contract for a year’s free rent in a furnished apartment in Arizona plus roundtrip airfare
-rent for a afternoon with Alice Cooper
-afternoon for motorized Kiss snow globe
-snow globe for roundtrip airfare anywhere in the world, hotel, and speaking role in movie (traded to a snow-globe collecting actor)
-movie role for the world’s largest paperclip, a key to the town, and a freaking HOUSE.
That dude is a genius.
